Caf Manager Position Summary The Mixologist is the head of the bar and primary representative in the bar area of the restaurant.
The person in this role manages the operations of the designated bar area, prepares classic and innovative drinks, supports the servers to fulfill beverage needs, and exceeds guests needs and expectations.
This position has direct oversight of staff, including bartenders and servers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities BAR LEAD ? Maintain bar costs and budget, keeping accurate records for review by restaurant administration team.
? Collaborate with the Caf Manager on creating standard operating procedures for the bar area and staff ? Meet or exceed beverage sales goals ? Plan, develop, and present new drink recipes and plans for maintenance of classic, specialty, and successful drink recipes.
? Prepares and mixes ingredients and prepares alcohol cocktails, other alcohol drinks or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant guests.
? Assist restaurant administration team and provides scheduling of bar operations and preparations.
? Maintain all operations and cash handling of bar registers o Handles cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
? Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation protocols of the bar areas, which includes, but is not limited to the daily assigned bar tasks to be maintained throughout the hours of operation and prior to the end of shift or closing.
? Practice safety standards within the bar and operations of all equipment, tools, service ware and utensils in order to prevent injuries or unwanted incidents.
? Assist with communications and transactions with suppliers for timely deliveries.
? Assist with acquisition of all bar goods and stock inventories, including alcohol, ingredients and equipment.
? Engage with industry trends to drive cocktail menu changes to ensure fresh, innovative and seasonally accurate cocktails are available on the menu ? Maintain the quality control and timeliness of all served beverages.
? Maintain personal hygiene standards and adheres to hygiene requirements of the venue.
? Perform other duties as assigned CUSTOMER SERVICE Mixologist JD 2 ? Checks guest identifications and observes guest behavior to alcohol in order to ensure compliance with all food and beverage regulations, State laws and company policies.
? Welcome customers, read and listen to people to determine beverage preferences, make recommendations, and take drink orders.
? Check identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
? Ensure guest are not over-served, reaching the point of intoxication and is able to use proper protocols to handle intoxicated customers ? Interacts pleasantly with guests and fulfills orders for food at the bar and drinks for the restaurant.
? Maintains guest focus in order to nurture an excellent guest experience.
? Interacts with guests, receives comments or complaints, and manages customer relations for the success of the bar operations, service levels, and presentation.
PEOPLE LEAD ? Supervise, coach, and train all bar staff on all beverage products to ensure beverage knowledge and service levels are to standard ? Creating and planning bar staff schedules ? Contribute to shift briefings as required ? Supports staff of servers and fulfills servers' drink orders for guests.
Requirements ? High School Diploma or equivalent required ? Minimum four (4) years' experience tending bar required ? Minimum one (1) year experience managing bar ? Proven knowledge of spirits and mixed drinks as well as mixing tools and techniques ? Demonstrated knowledge and practice of safe food handling; ServSafe certification preferred ? Certification preferred through the Beverage Alcohol Resource ? Ability to work cohesively as part of a team and build relationships.
? Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol.
? Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
? Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance.
? Basic math and computer skills.
? Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a strong commitment to service.
? Strong task and time management abilities.
